The Grovestead Gathering

Come and spend time with like-minded friends and be encouraged on your journey towards family-centered community. Here is a blog post from last year’s Gathering telling a bit more of this special time together.

Speakers

Kevin Swanson is a husband, father, pastor, radio host, and national speaker. He is an author and serves as the Director of Generations; a ministry he founded to strengthen Christian families around the country. For the last 20 years Kevin has hosted a daily radio program—Generations Radio—that reaches families across the U.S. and in over 100 countries. He is author of a dozen (or so) books including Epoch: The Rise and Fall of the West and Family Life: A Simple Guide to the Biblical Family

Rory Groves moved his family from the city to the country several years ago to begin the journey towards a more durable way of life. Rory and his wife Becca now reside in southern Minnesota where they farm, publish, host events, and homeschool their six children. He is the author of Durable Trades: Family-Centered Economies That Have Stood the Test of Time.

Becca Groves is a wife and a mother of six children (ages 1-13) with a passion for helping women see the high calling of our daily work. Read can read stories about her homesteading, homeschooling, and homemaking on our blog, thegrovestead.com.

FRIDAY, August 30th

• 5:00PM – POTLUCK DINNER (main dish provided, bring a side to share)
• 6:30PM – Q&A Sessions with Keynote Speakers*
• 7:30PM – FELLOWSHIP TIME

SATURDAY, August 31st

• 8:30AM – COFFEE & FELLOWSHIP IN BARN
• 9:00AM – Going the Distance – Rory Groves*
• 10:30AM – Have Your Children Been with Jesus? – Kevin Swanson*
• 12:00PM – BREAK FOR LUNCH (bring your own picnic lunch)
• 1:30PM – Recovering the Christian Family in an Age of Brokenness – Kevin Swanson*
• 2:30PM – CLOSING & SENDING*
• 3:30PM – Event Ends

* Childcare will be available during these speaker sessions

Lodging:

If you are coming from out of town feel free to use one of the lodging options near Northfield, MN:

• GrandStay in Faribault has a block of rooms (ask for “Grovestead Gathering” block). You may contact the hotel directly at 507-334-2888.
• On-site tent-camping is available (inquire with us).
• We do not have space or hookups for RVs, but they may stay at nearby Nerstrand State Park
