I used Becca’s favorite sheet pan to stabilize the turkey fryer. Think she’ll notice?

Last of the tomatoes are processed. (Well, actually.. we still have bags of frozen tomatoes waiting for us.) The garden is winding down now and the fall chill has arrived.

There is such a fun energy every baling day. Rory has an excited intensity until all of the hay is tucked in the barn, and the rest of us see the whole thing as a great reason for a picnic and to take in a glorious day. It is raining today and we are grateful for winter food for our animals.

The audio talks from the Grovestead Gathering are now available on our website (gatherandgrow.us)! Six talks from myself, Rory, and Allan C. Carlson— the man whose writing started us down the path to family economies and durable trades. Our theme this year was Christian community so all the talks are about the importance of intentional community now more than ever.
